Supporting Evidence

"The Duchess" tells about the life of the Duchess of Devonshire, Georgianna Spencer. A direct ancestor of the beloved Princess Diana, the Duchess was also loved and recognized as one of the most influential women of her time. She was loved by the people, engaged in politics, and an icon of society.

This movie was very well done. Keira Knightley was an amazing Duchess, capturing the depth and emotions that come with the role. What an intense character to play, it would not have been an easy task. I couldn't believe how sad the story really was and how strong women had to have been back then. I wouldn't have lasted.

In parts, this movie reminded me of the "The other Boleyn Girl" which also reminded me that I am so grateful to live in a century where women are treated more as equals rather than objects.

Good flic, great story.
