The Clone Wars is a bore

I, along with many other Star Wars fans, was disappointed by Star Wars: The Clone Wars last Friday. Simply put, it was overly cute and uneventful. The animation was, well, unique. I had been excited to see what new effects would be added by the limitless possibilities of animation, but there was nothing new. The characters looked like paintings much of the time with the texturing seeming a little off. And lightsaber battles are just no where near as exciting in animation as they are in live action. Most of the cast seemed to phone in their voice work and it was sad to see that the only returning actors were Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu and Christopher Lee as Count Dooku. The whole film seemed to stretch out like a too long Saturday morning cartoon, which is what the film is trying to kick off, a cartoon series. And the oddest thing of the film, Jabba the Hutt's uncle. I won't say more, but if you watch the movie, you'll understand. This movie is not the 7th Star Wars film fans were hoping for. Save your money or go see The Dark Knight again, you'll be much better off.
